VISIBLY and BODILY to this earth
The following testimonies prove clearly that Christ is personally to return to the earth and remind us of the reward he will bring for the righteous when he does come.
What a blessing it will be to be among those to whom the invitation will then be extended, “To you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels.” 2 Thessalonians 1:8.
Remember this promise is “to those who are waiting for him.” Hebrews 9:28
- “I will set up thy seed after thee (Jesus Christ), which shall proceed out of the bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build an house for My Name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.” 2 Samuel 12-13
- “And I will pour upon the house of David and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced (Jesus), and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son…” Zecharaiah 12:10
- “When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory.” Matthew 25:31-32
- “And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.” Mark 13:26
- “And ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.” Mark 14:62
- “Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the lord.” Luke 13:35
- “And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.” Luke 21:27
- “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you (here, not there) unto myself, that where I am there ye may be also.” John 14:3
- “This same Jesus which is taken up form you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.” Acts 1:11
- “Waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: who shall also confirm you (at his coming not their going) unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 1:7
- “But every man in his own order; Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.” 1 Corinthians 15:23
- “For our conversation is in heaven, from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.” Philippians 3:20
- “When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.” Colossians 3:4
- “Ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; and to wait for his Son from heaven.” 1 Thessalonians 1:9, 10
- “I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom…shall give me at that (not this) day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:1, 7, 8
- “So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.” Hebrew 9:23
- “Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world, looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious APPEARING of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.” Titus 2:12, 13.
- …might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 1:7
- “…but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.” 1 John 3:2
- “Behold he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him.” Revelation 1:7
- “Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth.” Revelation 16:15
- “Behold I come quickly; blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of this book…And behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give to every man according as his work shall be…He that testifieth these things saith, Surely, I come quickly, Amen. Even so, Come, Lord Jesus.” Revelation 22:7, 12, 20
